The International School Groningen provides a comprehensive educational programme to approximately 130 students aged between 11 and 18. The school offers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme in the first five years followed by the Diploma Programme in the final two years. The International School is a section of the larger Dutch Secondary School, Maartenscollege, which offers VMBO-T, HAVO, VWO, Gymnasium and Bilingual VWO to 1450 students. Sharing excellent resources and being part of a staff network of 160 personnel the schools work together in their aim to educate the young people of today to become the responsible world citizens of tomorrow.

Freelance language tutors (updated 12/07/11)
The International School Groningen is looking for freelance language tutors who are able to teach native languages (except English, Dutch) as 'Mother Tongue Support'.
We are curently seeking tutors in
Persian, Portugese, Arabic, Russian, Italian, Bahasa Indonesia
Mother Tongue Support is offered for those students who would like to keep studying their mother tongue whilst attending the International school. In some cases the students may take these classes to get their certificate for Language A in the IBMYP Programme.
Teaching experience (age group 11-16) in the language is preferred.

The International School Groningen seeks specific tutors for the IB Diploma Programme:
Freelance language tutors for Slovenian, Portugese
who are able to teach literature to native speakers of the languages concerned.
Students in the IB Diploma Programme ( 16 – 19 years of age), whose first language is not English or Dutch, have to take exams in their mother tongue in order to pass the Diploma Programme. In the two-year course preceding the exams students have to read 11 works of literature and learn to analyse literary texts.
